WD Gann was recognised as the first Financial Astrologer. A quote in the Journal of Commerce on 15 January 1921 states ‘his calculations are based on the Science of Letters, Numbers and Astrology’.

Number 9, the highest digit and the ninth year, is the strongest of all bull markets. Final bull campaigns culminate in this year after extreme advances and prices start to decline. Bear markets usually start in September or November at the end of the ninth year and a sharp decline takes place. Example 1899, 1909, 1919 and 1929 – the year of the greatest advances, culminating in the fall the following year, followed by a sharp decline. Also see 1979, 1989, 1999 2009 and watch for 2019.
